2 Years of Control Alt Delete
MESA, Ariz. –
From 9/2/2019 – 9/1/2021 Control Alt Delete has facilitated 3298 escapes from domestic violence.
There were 6684 children that escaped in those 3298 escapes. In 2 years we helped 125 Veterans escape domestic violence.
In January 2021 we started tracking the pets that escaped with their Survivors and from January 1, 2021 – 9/2/2021 there were 817 pets that are all now safe after escaping domestic violence.
We also started documenting senior citizen escapes on January 1, 2021 and as of 9/2/2021 we have made sure 131 senior citizens have been able to escape domestic violence. Do you know what their largest needs have been? Food. Their abusers have taken all of their money and left them with nothing to buy groceries, most on fixed incomes.
We’ve had so many successes that it can be hard to put the struggles into perspective. The pandemic could have easily closed our young nonprofit down. Donations went down to next to nothing as the need to escape soared. Our local news reported that there were no longer wait lists to enter domestic violence shelters, worrying that people were trapped with their abusers as they quarantined. During that time we were actively helping people escape to their support systems, often in other cities, counties and states. We got them to safety instead of entering a shelter; leaving shelter space for the Survivors without any type of support network.
We have a lot of goals for the next year and are still navigating awareness and fundraising during a pandemic. One of our goals for year 3 is to double our social media following because every like, share, repost, retweet causes at least 1 new escape.

Control Alt Delete removes the barriers that often keep people in unsafe domestic violence environments. We bridge the gap in services and help in that immediate time of need providing one time assistance with services such as gas gift cards, cab rides, bus tickets, hotel rooms and new locks and security measures for homes where Survivors will be staying.
