The timing is perfect as we approach the Mega Escape Day of the Super Bowl
Thank you to the Arizona Cardinals Charities for the lifesaving grant to help Survivors of domestic violence escape from their abusers.
This grant will be specifically used to facilitate high lethality risk escapes proving temporary hotel stays. Let the words “high lethality risk” sink in for a moment.
These escapes have been flagged by police or the prosecutor office as a high risk for the unthinkable to happen, the abuser killing a Survivor. This could be the other adult or children in the case. Lives are at risk if we do not help them get to their safety.
There are many reasons a 2 night hotel stay is vital in high lethality risk escapes, from the police trying to locate the abuser to waiting for an order of protection to be served to coordinating travel to safety or security measures. This grant will allow Control Alt Delete to provide these lifesaving hotel stays.
With the upcoming Super bowl, Control Alt Delete will see a drastic increase from our normal daily escape number of 33 escapes a day. On Mega Escape Days that number consistently increases to over 100 escapes in a single day. Because of this Cardinal Charities grant we are in a much better position to facilitate the high lethality risk escapes that will come in during the Mega Escape Day.
Control Alt Delete removes the barriers that keep people in unsafe and abusive situations by providing one time assistance at the most vulnerable and crucial times as Survivors are actually escaping. We can’t do it without you, our supporters.
