Historically, St. Patrick’s Day has been a Mega Escape Day for Survivors of domestic violence.
Why?
Because holidays bring heightened emotions, alcohol use, financial stress, and isolation. For many Survivors, it becomes the moment they realize they cannot stay one more day. It becomes the day they choose safety.
But let’s be clear:
It’s not luck that gets them out.
It’s not a four-leaf clover.
It’s not chance.
It’s planning. Logistics. Resources. Immediate action.
It’s Control Alt Delete.
When a Survivor makes the decision to escape, there is a narrow window of time to act. In that moment, your support makes it possible for us to:
